Sometimes Boom – Sometimes Bust

Shahid Afridi has a reputation of being hot and cold – his inconsistencies are famous, but when he performs many are left in awe. Why are things so? Will there ever be consistency – a constant string of successes? What is his future cricket looking like?

Free, open and carefree, Shahid Afridi will continue to be this way, but in all of this he will provide better stability to the Pakistani team and the new crop of players. Especially as 2014 approaches, his instinctiveness and a confident ability to guide the team will be more evident.

This positivity is going to be reflected in his batting – in fact not sticking to pre-decided plans and continuing to play as he does will work in his favour in 2014. Until then he will need to be more circumspect, which is quite a challenge hence there will be more hot and cold performances where Boom Boom Afridi will go Bust, but all this will not discourage him.

Using Afridi as bowler will always be a risk, but over the course of the next couple of years Afridi will just know what day he will and will not do well. He needs to listen to his instincts more, this will allow him to find better rhythm leading him to be a more successful bowler rather than under-performing.

Why Boom? Why Bust?

He is ruled by two elements – Air & Water, both of which cannot be controlled. This lack of direction has pre-decided this nature of his, which is why you cannot bind Afridi to rules and regulations – you can give him a vague structure and he will go making his own rules.

Tarot Tip: Shahid Afridi will find his life, career and his health/fitness being more in sync once he slows down and takes time to listen to himself. He has a courageous mind-set but fears to actually showcase a steadily aggressive persona – being larger than life is an image he feels he needs to maintain, whereas Tarot advises him streamline this thoughts – this will see his career carry healthier longevity. Developing focus is of prime importance.
