Who Will Take It Home? Final ODI

ODI 5 – 16 September, 2013 – Rose Bowl (D/N)
England Vs Australia

England
England's batting will seem to run on luck, whereas bowling will be quite confident. Overall the team will adapt well, make the right changes and enjoy themselves more. But in all of this they need to lessen their complacency which can stem from unnecessary over-confidence.

The Captain – Eoin Morgan
Captaincy will be aggressive yet measured. Morgan will be challenged but he will take to it quite well.

Australia
Australia's batting will be smart and confident, but they will need to be more aggressive if they're to make up for some bowling weaknesses. They will have to lift their energies to end the series well.

The Captain – Michael Clarke
Clarke is working hard on creating the right balance but he will need to be more instinctive rather than working on a set plan. He will have to give himself more room to improvise.

Tarot Advantage:
England

Teams Battle Themselves - ODI 2

ODI 2 – 8 September, 2013 – Old Trafford
England Vs Australia

England
Team England will find themselves having to take risks and be more innovative if they are to beat the Australians. Their own weaknesses will be the cause of their problems – middle over batting and end over bowling will be times when England will have to be more watchful. On a positive note the team will adapt themselves well and will be aggressive enough to make this a strong fight.

The Captain – Eoin Morgan
Morgan will need to be more pro-active; especially since he does have some successful plans up his sleeve which he should not hesitate to implement.

Australia
There will be some obvious inconsistencies which will trouble team Australia. Initial batting and patchy fielding will not help their cause although bowling will be stable. Australia have to be careful of underestimating the opposition and not addressing some of their own weaknesses – this thought process may just backfire, which is why the cards advise them to step up their aggression and focus.

The Captain – Michael Clarke
Outwardly positive, Clarke will be quite nervous on the inside. He will want to push at things for quicker results, whereas his team may not be able to match up to the pace required.

Tarot Advantage:
England

And the First Blow Goes to...

ODI 1 – 6 September, 2013 – Leeds
England Vs Australia

England
Positive but patchy – team England's middle over batting and initial bowling will let them down. Overall, they will be blessed with good partnerships in all areas to see them put up a strong fight. Their plans are deceptive and simple allowing them to change their ideas as and when required.

The Captain – Eoin Morgan
Morgan is going to enjoy this opportunity; his freshness will bring with it a happier energy in the team. He will need to think a little ahead rather than just focussing on momentary concerns during the game.

Australia
Aggressive yet inconsistent – team Australia will have good batting partnerships and good balance in their bowling, but both these areas will not end on the strongest note. In order to put up a fight, it will be important for them to regulate their aggression and stick to a basic plan.

The Captain – Michael Clarke
Clarke starts off positively and in tune with what is required, but unnecessary changes will create problems. Hence he should not divert from his basic original plan.

Tarot Advantage:
England

The 1st T20 - England Vs Australia

1st T20 - 29 August, 2013 - Southampton
England
Team England will do the basics fairly well; their bowling will be balanced and smart. Fielding too will be sharp and will grow in confidence. But they will need to be careful of their initial batting as complacency will lead them to unnecessary struggles.

The Captain – Stuart Broad
Broad will adapt well and be instinctive in his captaincy. His pro-activeness will be an important key to seeing England through.

Australia
The Australians will be aggressive and well balanced, yet they will expect for something to go wrong. Bowling and fielding will start off well, but it may not end so strongly whereas batting will be steady.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey needs to implement his plans in a timely manner otherwise he will fall behind, hence adding unnecessary pressure and confusion on the team. On a positive note, Bailey will inspire the team to fight to the end.

Tarot Advantage:
England

5th Test - Final Nail..?

Picture
5th Test - 21-25 August, 2013 - The Oval
England
There is resilience and strength in team England. They will make some beneficial changes that will allow them to battle with greater positivity.

1st Innings
Middle order batting will have to be careful as they will find it tougher to score freely. Their first innings batting will be crucial for them. Initial bowling will need to be more aggressive.

2nd Innings
Opening batting will have to be more patient and battle harder otherwise the remaining batsman will need to take on unnecessary risks. Bowlers will bowl with relative ease and be aggressive.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook's captaincy may not be the sharpest on field, but his team will execute plans well and hence will not require him to make too many changes.

Australia
Team Australia are willing to take risks – they will know when and when not to be aggressive, hence their ideas are well calculated. Collectively they will need to be weary of pushing for results quicker than required as they would end up losing their way by doing so.

1st Innings
Batting will start off well and will look comfortable, but it will be hard for them to maintain such consistency. Initially, bowling will be strong and aggressive but there will be a dip towards the middle which the opposition will capitalise on.

2nd Innings
Batting will be temperamental; despite a good partnership, they will have to work harder to keep up. Bowling will be patchy – instead it will be the opposition that will make it easier for them.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke's captaincy will be far more resolute than Cooks', yet Clarke will find it touch to receive the backing he needs.

Tarot Advantage:
England

4th Test - 2-1? Time for Australia to Score?

Picture
4th Test - 9-13 August, 2013 - Chester-Le-Street
England
England will seem on top and then drop as their standards will fluctuate. They will be seen fighting harder and having to rework their plans. Such inconsistencies will be best dealt with better applied aggression.

1st Innings
Batsman should be weary of taking unnecessary risks, otherwise they should build a good innings. Bowling will stick to a strong plan but they will have to be careful to finish well.

2nd Innings
Batting in the 2nd innings will be more consistent whereas bowling will need to be better planned – especially as its' weaknesses will begin to show.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook is looking positive, but will be too soft. He will have to be aggressive, pro-active and take decisions out of his comfort zone.

Australia
Team Australia may not have the best plans, but they have the right combination of players who will script their actions towards success. Their teamwork will see them pull through strongly despite some kinks in their armour.

1st Innings
Batting will be careful but steady, whereas bowling will initially be wayward only to be aggressive and successful later.

2nd Innings
There is anxiousness in the batting which will lead to a self-inflicted loss in momentum hence they will need to be watchful of such negative patches in play. Bowling will start off a little expensive only for them to pull it back well.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
There is a certain confusion in Clarke's approach, but he is okay to captain that way. He will be instinctive and enjoy the game without taking on unnecessary pressures.

Tarot Advantage:
There is not a lot to choose between the teams, except for just a slight edge in team work, hence Tarot Advantage: Australia

Australian Comeback?

Picture
3rd Test - 1-5 August, 2013 - Old Trafford

England
England will need to be far more upbeat in the initial stages of the game – more enthusiasm, more energy, and certainly more happiness - why? Because they will initially seem dull and since they will have a few glitches along the way, they will require more energy! They will recover well, but they will need to take a few more risks to see this one through.

1st Innings
A strong start and end to their batting innings will be seen, but middle order batting will need better application. On the other hand, their bowling will seem patchy at times, but overall control will be sharp and confident.

2nd Innings
Batting will be consistent but the batsman will need to refrain from complacency – it will not be all that easy. Initial bowling plans will need to be re-visited in order to be more successful.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Captaincy will be very balanced and calculative. Cook's assessment of the situations will be well thought out.

Australia
Australia need to break themselves out of their negative mind-sets. At times, implementation of plans will be slow and under-confident. Some strong partnerships will help them maintain their position in the game – but they have to think quick and think ahead. Pro-activeness will be seen but in patches.

1st Innings
Batting will show some strength and some glimmer of hope, but again, they will lack consistency whereas bowling may not have an ideal start but will come back strongly.

2nd Innings
In this phase of the game, their batting innings will be strong, confident and aggressive, but it will be hard-work for them to maintain this. Bowling will be too temperamental but will finish well.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke is balanced, but he is going through a phase of transition with the team. Despite this, he is trying to push them for results which are not easiest to achieve at this stage.

Tarot Advantage
England

The Ashes - Australia to Level? What does Tarot think..

Picture
2nd Test - 18-22 July, 2013 - Lord's

England
Team England are balanced and quietly confident, but they will still have the tendency to get confused within their own plans. Evaluations from the first test will prove to be beneficial and will be key in getting them back on track.

1st Innings
Batting will be more competitive, but England will also show some inconsistencies with their shot selections. There will be some strong partnerships that will prove to be vital. Bowling too will be inconsistent but again deceptive at the right times. As a team they will pull through when required.

2nd Innings
The batsman will let go of their inhibitions and will show ease in their batting. Bowling will be focussed; targeting the opposition well - fielding will back this up too.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Too temperamental and taking on unnecessary pressure, Cook will need to be calmer with his decision making. He will need to be more confident if he is to gain better control over the game.

Australia
Australia have a tough mental journey, but they will fight this strongly. They will apply themselves, work hard and have results to show for this. Strategies will appear weaker as the match progresses hence they will adapt and change as required.

1st Innings
Batting will be tougher than usual, but it will be the middle order batsman that will put up the required fight. Bowling will be patchy yet will end strongly.

2nd Innings
Batting will seem to be a tougher task. Bowling will be more attacking but expensive too. Stability and enthusiasm will be brought in through a strong fielding effort.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
There will be better balance in Clarke's captaincy; he will make all the right moves but will find himself working harder to achieve desired results.

Tarot Advantage
Cook's captaincy will be weaker in comparison to Clarke's but the overall team effort from England makes them stronger contenders to win the 2nd Test. Therefore, Tarot Advantage: England

The Ashes - 1st Test - Who'll Strike First?

Picture
England
The energy of Team England is positive, well planned and strong. They are mentally in control and well equipped to deal with the opposition. Challenges will certainly present themselves, and despite some patchiness at times, England will know how to overcome this.

1st Innings
Batting will be aggressive – in fact they will have to be, since opposition bowling will be tough to battle with. The batsman will be able to fight this one through quite confidently. Bowling will work to a balanced plan, whereas fielding will require better focus.

2nd Innings
Batting will require better focus otherwise unnecessary risks will be taken. Bowling and fielding will have a positive start, but towards the latter half England should look to stick to their plans.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook will need to be careful about second guessing his plans and will need to be more positively aggressive with his captaincy.

Australia
Not feeling the most confident, Australia will have the right enthusiasm to tackle their anxieties and this 1st Test. Their sense of balance and ability to work well as a team will come through. They will need to be more pro-active to make their opportunities count.

1st Innings
Batting will be soft and patchy – with some strong partnerships but overall inconsistency will need to be avoided; better application will be required. Bowling will be more streamlined, but fielding will not be.

2nd Innings
Batting will look more confident, whereas bowling and fielding may lose its' way towards the end.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Although instinctive in his captaincy, Clarke will need to be more aggressive about implementation of plans. His soft approach may leave things too late.

Tarot Advantage
England
