Australian Comeback?

Picture
3rd Test - 1-5 August, 2013 - Old Trafford

England
England will need to be far more upbeat in the initial stages of the game – more enthusiasm, more energy, and certainly more happiness - why? Because they will initially seem dull and since they will have a few glitches along the way, they will require more energy! They will recover well, but they will need to take a few more risks to see this one through.

1st Innings
A strong start and end to their batting innings will be seen, but middle order batting will need better application. On the other hand, their bowling will seem patchy at times, but overall control will be sharp and confident.

2nd Innings
Batting will be consistent but the batsman will need to refrain from complacency – it will not be all that easy. Initial bowling plans will need to be re-visited in order to be more successful.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Captaincy will be very balanced and calculative. Cook's assessment of the situations will be well thought out.

Australia
Australia need to break themselves out of their negative mind-sets. At times, implementation of plans will be slow and under-confident. Some strong partnerships will help them maintain their position in the game – but they have to think quick and think ahead. Pro-activeness will be seen but in patches.

1st Innings
Batting will show some strength and some glimmer of hope, but again, they will lack consistency whereas bowling may not have an ideal start but will come back strongly.

2nd Innings
In this phase of the game, their batting innings will be strong, confident and aggressive, but it will be hard-work for them to maintain this. Bowling will be too temperamental but will finish well.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke is balanced, but he is going through a phase of transition with the team. Despite this, he is trying to push them for results which are not easiest to achieve at this stage.

Tarot Advantage
England

The Ashes - Australia to Level? What does Tarot think..

Picture
2nd Test - 18-22 July, 2013 - Lord's

England
Team England are balanced and quietly confident, but they will still have the tendency to get confused within their own plans. Evaluations from the first test will prove to be beneficial and will be key in getting them back on track.

1st Innings
Batting will be more competitive, but England will also show some inconsistencies with their shot selections. There will be some strong partnerships that will prove to be vital. Bowling too will be inconsistent but again deceptive at the right times. As a team they will pull through when required.

2nd Innings
The batsman will let go of their inhibitions and will show ease in their batting. Bowling will be focussed; targeting the opposition well - fielding will back this up too.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Too temperamental and taking on unnecessary pressure, Cook will need to be calmer with his decision making. He will need to be more confident if he is to gain better control over the game.

Australia
Australia have a tough mental journey, but they will fight this strongly. They will apply themselves, work hard and have results to show for this. Strategies will appear weaker as the match progresses hence they will adapt and change as required.

1st Innings
Batting will be tougher than usual, but it will be the middle order batsman that will put up the required fight. Bowling will be patchy yet will end strongly.

2nd Innings
Batting will seem to be a tougher task. Bowling will be more attacking but expensive too. Stability and enthusiasm will be brought in through a strong fielding effort.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
There will be better balance in Clarke's captaincy; he will make all the right moves but will find himself working harder to achieve desired results.

Tarot Advantage
Cook's captaincy will be weaker in comparison to Clarke's but the overall team effort from England makes them stronger contenders to win the 2nd Test. Therefore, Tarot Advantage: England

The Ashes - 1st Test - Who'll Strike First?

Picture
England
The energy of Team England is positive, well planned and strong. They are mentally in control and well equipped to deal with the opposition. Challenges will certainly present themselves, and despite some patchiness at times, England will know how to overcome this.

1st Innings
Batting will be aggressive – in fact they will have to be, since opposition bowling will be tough to battle with. The batsman will be able to fight this one through quite confidently. Bowling will work to a balanced plan, whereas fielding will require better focus.

2nd Innings
Batting will require better focus otherwise unnecessary risks will be taken. Bowling and fielding will have a positive start, but towards the latter half England should look to stick to their plans.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook will need to be careful about second guessing his plans and will need to be more positively aggressive with his captaincy.

Australia
Not feeling the most confident, Australia will have the right enthusiasm to tackle their anxieties and this 1st Test. Their sense of balance and ability to work well as a team will come through. They will need to be more pro-active to make their opportunities count.

1st Innings
Batting will be soft and patchy – with some strong partnerships but overall inconsistency will need to be avoided; better application will be required. Bowling will be more streamlined, but fielding will not be.

2nd Innings
Batting will look more confident, whereas bowling and fielding may lose its' way towards the end.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Although instinctive in his captaincy, Clarke will need to be more aggressive about implementation of plans. His soft approach may leave things too late.

Tarot Advantage
England
