T20 3... 3-0 or 2-1?

T20 3 – 2 February, 2014 - Sydney
Australia Vs England

Australia
Team Australia will look to experiment with their tactics and hence will make subtle changes in their own individual styles. This will be reflected in the initial batting and bowling – these tactics may not work too well, but the team will adapt well and pick up focus in these areas. Fielding will be confident.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey seems at ease – there is an air of quiet confidence. He feels right and comfortable to make some unconventional changes.

England
Team England are looking to step up their game and will even be more instinctive with their overall demeanour. Their batting and bowling will both be steady, but it's the bowling that will give way – it will be more troublesome. Fielding will be good.

The Captain – Stuart Broad
There is effort, energy and the right amount of balance in Broad's captaincy, but this seems to fall apart towards the end.

Tarot Advantage
Australia

T20 2 - Surprise - Take 2!

T20 2 – 31 January, 2014 - Melbourne
Australia Vs England

Australia
Team Australia feel extremely confident but complacency will be a danger. Batting will have its' weak moments but a recovery will help the cause. Bowling shows direction and focus. Fielding will need to step up.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey's captaincy seems out of sync today. He's over thinking and hence losing opportunities to be more effective.

England
It's all too last minute for England. They have the right team and balance, but acceleration seems to come at the end. Batting will be better planned and executed. Bowling will show a good collective effort. Fielding will be positive too.

The Captain – Stuart Broad
Broad appears troubled, but despite this he is willing to take risks and try out new ideas which could be potential winners.

Tarot Advantage

T20 1 - Surprise?!

T20 1 – 29 January, 2014 - Hobart
Australia Vs England

Australia
There is experience and expertise with team Australia, but will that come forward today? Batting will be temperamental, but it will still manage to expose the opposition. Bowling will be hard work, in fact the bowlers will feel strained. Fielders will make elementary mistakes.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey will have to rework his plans and make more aggressive decisions to utilise the cracks in the opposition.

England
Team England seems fresh(er), more aggressive, more determined and happier. Batting will grow in confidence and be a positive part of their performance. Bowlers will take risks, some will pay off, but overall they will need to be better focussed. Fielding will need to improve.

The Captain – Stuart Broad
Broad will be creatively aggressive – his ideas will be smart and effective.

5th ODI - Temperamental

ODI 5 – 26 January, 2014 - Adelaide
Australia Vs England

Australia
A team's collective contribution will be seen. Australia will work well as a unit but they will look a little tired. Motivations will need to be re-instigated. Batting will be a little temperamental – aggression will be required. Bowling will show some concerns, but it won't be bring major trouble. Fielding will have to improve.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke's approach is a little soft – by following his instincts, he will receive better results.

England
It's strange that despite a strong performance in the previous game, the team still seems to question its' ability to deliver. Looking under-confident, team England will try their best to lift their game, especially with their bowling. Batting will require better application, whereas fielding will be balanced.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook's changes will be inconsistent. He will need to stick to pre-decided ideas rather than being too innovative.

Tarot Advantage
Australia

ODI 4: Will England Step Up?

ODI 4 – 24 January, 2014 - Perth
Australia Vs England

Australia
Looking at the recent standards this team has set, this won't be such a comfortable ride – more because of their own complacencies. Batting will have the tendency to lose its way despite some strong partnerships. Bowling will be on the mark – aggressive and balanced. Fielding will be good too.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke is looking to make some changes – some very unrealistic ones which could prove to be quite troubling.

England
Opportunities will be handed over to England, but grabbing them at the right time and pushing for further results in their favour will be tough. They will lack consistency, which will be seen most in their batting. Although their innings will end strongly, it's the initial half that will hurt them. Bowling looks better controlled and confident. Fielding will not end too well.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook seems sensible in his approach, but negativity and fear will play on his confidence. This won't allow him to accelerate when the chances arrive.

Tarot Advantage

ODI 3 - Competitive

ODI 3 – 19 January, 2014 - Sydney
Australia Vs England

Australia
Team Australia will feel the competition. They will be too lenient at times, especially with their initial batting – upon realisation, this will tighten up and stronger batting will be seen. Bowling will be well planned but fielding may not back it up so well.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke will have a stronger presence – his inputs and quick decision making will make quite a difference.

England
England have the right ingredients to trouble Australia – they will be too defensive at times, and then too aggressive – imbalanced ideas and implementations can confuse their game plan. Batting will build their innings slowly but surely, it's their bowling that will be a troublesome. Fielding will have to step up.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook needs to get over the previous disappointments very fast, since this game will give him opportunities – he just needs to be more alert to pick up on them. His alertness towards the latter half will improve.

Tarot Advantage
Australia

Advantage to.. Australia? England?

ODI 2 – 17 January, 2014 - Brisbane
Australia Vs England

Australia
The team is reflecting temperamental behaviour and hence will look to delay their tactics – this maybe a sensible move as their final push will be positive. Initial batting will be risky but these chances will work out. Bowling will require better application. Fielding will be strong.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke has some unrealistic ideas. His experimentations maybe unusual, but it will be his team that will save him from making larger mistakes.

England
England are aggressive and at times quite defiant – this policy will not work so well. Aggression without a plan will just give way to errors in judgement. Initial batting will be soft , but balanced – they should finish well. Bowling will be expensive but deceptive. Fielding will need to be better focussed.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook will show some lax moments – he will have to rework his plans quite fast before receiving desired results.

ODI Series Begins - Who Takes the First Blow?

ODI 1 – 12 January, 2014 - Melbourne
Australia Vs England

Australia
This will be a tough game, Australia will feel the grind and may even be troubled by their anxieties. It will take some time for the team to settle, but will eventually do so quite well. Initial batting will have to be more patient as steadiness will eventually come into their innings – ending it strongly. Bowling will have a good start and a better finish – it's the middle overs that will let them down. Mid-innings fielding will show lax moments.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke has a lot in order, yet he doesn't feel the most comfortable. Some wise plans and an overall team effort will find Clarke gaining confidence and hence taking better decisions.

England
Team England have the right opportunities and even the right start. They will work well as a unit, but the inconsistencies will begin to creep in. Batting will need to be much more aggressive if they are to make best use of their partnerships. Bowling will have a good start, but maintaining this will be tough. Fielding will only pick up towards the end.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook has some good, result giving resources – but his self-belief is low and may make some basic errors on how best to utilise them. As the game progresses, Cook will gain confidence which will help him during this ODI series.

Tarot Advantage
Australia

5th Test: A Battle

The Ashes: 5th Test – 3-7 January, 2014 - Sydney

Australia
The target is 5-0 – looking at their performances, Australia feel quietly confident in doing so. But this is where complacency can set in. It will not be so easy as team England will show better resolved. Australia will be instinctive and may have to ignore pre-decided strategies as on the spot decisions will work well for them.

1st Innings
Batting – they will build themselves slowly in order to generate momentum in their innings. Latter half will require better application. Bowling – good start and a good end, but they will have trouble with a resistant middle-order. Fielding – aggressive, sharp, but some silly lapses in the middle will be troubling.

2nd Innings
Batting – their plans will work well at the start and towards the end, but they will feel stifled mid-way of their innings. Bowling – an initial casual approach will be a cause for concern. Maintaining aggressive momentum will be a challenge but manageable. Fielding – basic problems in the beginning will hurt.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke's captaincy starts off well, but then there is trouble – confusion with what ideas to adopt will mean a waste of time, hence not allowing him to capitalise on important opportunities.

England
Fear, anxiety and basic concerns still exist within the team, but they have pulled themselves together. They will display better energy and focus in all areas of the game. Going over-board in trying to prove a point should be avoided as balance is key.

1st Innings
Batting – aggressive, hungry and enthusiastic, but it will be a struggle to maintain such a start. Bowling – a weak beginning will make way to better discipline and better results. Fielding – alertness will be required as the simplest of opportunities could go amiss in the first half.

2nd Innings
Batting – momentum will be built upon very well. They will exploit opposition weaknesses; at the same time, getting over-confident could prove problematic. Bowling – the right combination of bowlers will be seen hence getting effective results mid-innings. Fielding – inconsistencies will still trouble them.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Cook seems out of sync at times – a dis-balance is apparent, but as the game progresses he will manage to do better and even see results for it, helping him re-gain overall confidence in himself.

Tarot Advantage:
A tough game, but advantage: Australia

4th Test: It's About Application

The Ashes: 4th Test – 26-30 December, 2013 - Melbourne

Australia
Australia have performed well thus far and it's not to say that they won't continue to do so – but there's a difference this time. They will make various changes in strategy which may add to their burdens. They will find themselves working harder to justify and improve their position in the game. Luckily they will manage to do so quite well.

1st Innings
Batting will grow steadily with strong foundations being laid. An independent innings will be noticed. Bowling will start off very well, but it's towards the end that focus will need to be maintained. Fielding will initially be weaker than usual.

2nd Innings
Another steady batting performance with some weaknesses shown mid-innings only to come back stronger towards the end. Bowling will appear burdened; hard work and strain will be felt but this will be not in vain as the bowlers re-group and bowl well in tandem. Fielding will display some silly errors.

The Captain - Michael Clarke
Clarke will be instinctive in his captaincy – he will assess the situation well and hence accommodate well too. His new ideas will not work so well, therefore he will go back to old formulas bringing the team better results.

England
Team England present better control over their strategies, but they still carry tremendous disappointment from the way the series has progressed. They're unable to brush this off and move forward completely, so although they will show better team work and a stronger fight, it will be hard for them to maintain this.

1st Innings
Initial batting will have to fight it out; focus does improve and a steady innings will be seen, with a strong batting performance towards the end. Bowling will be wayward and temperamental, but overall it will still give required results. Fielding will not be a trouble.

2nd Innings
Batting starts off very well, in fact they will put up a very strong fight giving the team hope and direction. Bowling will look good, only for it to take too many risks giving them undesired results. Fielding will do well, but may not end so well.

The Captain - Alastair Cook
Unfortunately, Cook doesn't appear too comfortable in this role. He will have to re-work his plans fast and maintain his focus if he is to do justice to the effort his team puts in.
