Sri Lanka V India: Stuck, Unstuck

Picture
World T20 – 6 April, 2014 - Dhaka
Final: Sri Lanka V India

Sri Lanka
The situation appears a little strange – Sri Lanka are an extremely determined side, with multiple things being favourable for them. But, it's as if they will face a bit of a block. Their energy will drop, there will be a sense of stagnation. Batting has a steady start and a steady finish – yet the middle overs could add more trouble than what they would be comfortable with. Bowling will need to be better planned and better directed. Fielding will be effective.

The Captain – Lasith Malinga
Malinga will do a fairly good job, but again, holding it together right through will be quite a task. He will have to be careful of complacency.

India
Team India will be a little strange too! They will seem softer and just a little too relaxed – will this change? For sure. Batting may not have the most ideal start, but partnerships and a strong innings will help the team recover well. Bowling may seem casual at times, but it will be effective in the middle overs. Fielding will have to improve, otherwise some silly errors will add pressure.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Dhoni does feel a sense confusion – he will do his best to simplify the game by analysing the situation well, waiting for the right moment and then striking.

Tarot Advantage
India

India V South Africa: Reliance

Picture
World T20 – 4 April, 2014 - Dhaka
Semi Final 2: India Vs South Africa

India
This isn't an easy task, but more because team India decide to make it tougher for themselves. Batting will have to be better applied, especially as a team contribution will see their innings grow in their favour. Bowling will be smart and varied. Fielding will be patchy.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Captain Dhoni is pro-active and calm. He feels in control and wishes to maintain balance despite some tricky situations.

South Africa
Team South Africa need to be careful of being too reliant on individuals to generate results. Batting will be inconsistent (steadier mid-way). Whereas bowling will be sensibly controlled. Fielding will require better application towards the latter half.

The Captain – Faf du Plessis
Mature, wise and sensible Du Plessis has the right ideas, but he may leave things a little too late.

Tarot Advantage
India

Sri Lanka V West Indies: Turn Around

Picture
World T20 – 3 April, 2014 - Dhaka
Semi Final 1: Sri Lanka Vs West Indies

Sri Lanka
There's poise, clever manipulation and aggression in team Sri Lanka. They will have to fight this one through though. Batting will be steady and well calculated, whereas bowling will require a steadier plan for it to exploit the conditions. Fielding will show inconsistencies.

The Captain – Dinesh Chandimal (if captain)
Captaincy is not as sharp as it could be. Although the team understands its' responsibilities, but Chandimal will feel a little out of sync.

West Indies
West Indies will have to control and direct their aggression if they're to challenge the opposition. Batting seems steady, but better bowling and fielding will be needed. Although bowling starts well, there is a mid-innings dip in focus – this could prove to be a concern.

The Captain – Darren Sammy
Sammy will need to re-work his plans. He will have to concentrate more on his field placings as basic errors could turn out to be major ones.

Tarot Advantage
Sri Lanka

Pakistan V West Indies: Head On

World T20 – 1 April, 2014 - Dhaka
Match 32 - Group 2: Pakistan Vs West Indies

Pakistan
It's important for Pakistan to strike the right balance – will they manage to do so? It's a strange game, because although batting will not be as effective, bowling will show moments of brilliance – but then fielding falters. There are a lot of ups and downs within the team's approach, so striking a balance will be tough.

The Captain – Mohammad Hafeez
Hafeez is going to give it his all. He will do his best to get the team in sync and even take some understandable risks.

West Indies
On the other side of it all are West Indies – they will enjoy the challenge. Although slow to start, they will be okay to not get aggressive too early. Their batting will be risky, but results will show. Whereas bowling will mostly be good, it's towards the end that focus will need to be maintained. Fielding will be patchy.

The Captain – Darren Sammy
Sammy feels in control. He is comfortable and has strong belief in his strategy.

Bangladesh V Australia: Consolation Prize

World T20 – 1 April, 2014 - Dhaka
Match 31 - Group 2: Bangladesh Vs Australia

Bangladesh
An activity filled team Bangladesh will make additional, aggressive efforts to generate a positive result. Batting will be patchy with a some encouraging starts, whereas bowling and fielding will show better application.

The Captain – Mushfiqur Rahim
Rahim feels he has a point to prove – more to himself. This can be in the shape of a good performance regardless of the result. His captaincy will be more instinctive than usual.

Australia
Team Australia will change their approach. They will look to gain control over the match before they push through. Their batsman will have to take it slow, spend some time on the crease before charging ahead. Bowling will be clever and effective. On the other hand, fielding will be inconsistent.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey will have to work hard on this one – it's more mind work rather than on field action. As long as he keeps things simple, he will pull this off.

Tarot Advantage
Australia

New Zealand V Sri Lanka: Moody

World T20 – 31 March, 2014 - Chittagong
Match 30 - Group 1: New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka

New Zealand
This isn't going to be an easy game. New Zealand feel that they have a point to prove, hence they will look to push themselves and be a challenge to the opposition. Batting will have an opportunity to grow, but finishing it well will prove to be most important. Bowlers will work hard on a tough day. Fielding will be attacking and balanced.

The Captain – Brendon McCullum
McCullum's self belief shakes a bit. He has the right resources, but should be careful of trying too hard. Anxious captaincy could undo some good work.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan performance will seem a little temperamental, but oddly effective. Their moods will shift quite erratically of which fielding will be most effected, whereas bowling will be well controlled. Batting looks relaxed – they will understand when and how to lift their innings.

The Captain – Lasith Malinga
Malinga will take risks. His captaincy will reflect a smart individual thinker, someone who is willing to adjust in order to achieve desired results.

England V Netherlands: Slippery

World T20 – 31 March, 2014 - Chittagong
Match 29 - Group 1: England Vs Netherlands
England
Silly restrictions and anxieties contribute to an odd performance by team England. Their batting may appear inconsistent, starting slowly – to end up stronger. Bowling will be patchy too, but effective; it's focus in the latter half will dip. Fielding will be effective.

The Captain – Stuart Broad
Broad doesn't look too interested – it's as if he wants to just go home. As the match progresses, he will generate interest and see value in applying himself, because of which results will be seen.

Netherlands
Team Netherlands have immense faith in their abilities. Their batting will be well applied, focussed and even wise. Bowling too will have a plan. It's fielding that could let them down. The problem will lie in their finishing – remaining head-strong and aggressive throughout will be required.

The Captain – Peter Borren
Borren wants to do too much too quickly. He will be inspired by the team, but he will have to steady himself to make use of small windows of opportunity.
Tarot Advantage
a challenge, but England

World T20 – 30 March, 2014 - Dhaka
Match 28 - Group 2: Australia Vs India

There's a disheartened vibe about team Australia. They will certainly work hard and apply themselves but remaining positive won't be easy. Batting will grow steadily, but bowling will have to show better balance. Fielding will be effected by silly errors.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey needs to choose his battles carefully. Being aggressive at the wrong time will not work in his favour.

India

Bangladesh V Pakistan - Simple Yet Tough

World T20 – 30 March, 2014 - Dhaka
Match 27 - Group 2: Bangladesh Vs Pakistan

Bangladesh
Team Bangladesh will find it tough to come together and play as a team. Initial batting will be a struggle, but they should recover well. Bowling will require improved planning, otherwise they will end up burdened. Fielding will have some sharp moments, but these will not be consistent.

The Captain – Mushfiqur Rahim
A little soft, it would be in Rahim's best interest to lose all fear and be more aggressive. Effective changes will be made a little too late.

Pakistan
Blowing hot and cold, team Pakistan will have the tendency to make things tougher on themselves. Batting will grow to a plan, whereas bowling be more aggressive and deceptive. Fielding will show some definite weaknesses and may prove to be expensive.

The Captain – Mohammad Hafeez
Initially Hafeez will be too defensive; as the game progresses he will gain confidence and create better balance in his decision making.

England V South Africa:  Clear Intentions

World T20 – 29 March, 2014 - Chittagong
Match 26 - Group 1: England Vs South Africa

England
Team England are anxious, but positively so. They will work hard, apply their skills and look to push their potential. There is real self-belief that will be seen in all areas of their game. Batting is steady with some strong blows midway through their innings. Bowling and fielding will be sharp, especially as players will be seen backing each other.

The Captain – Stuart Broad
Broad appears comfortable. He's beginning to understand his own captaining sensibilities and will look to challenge the opposition.

South Africa
There is so much application to remain balanced that it almost seems forced. Batting will require a team contribution despite a fair start. Bowling opens well, but then seems under pressure as the innings progresses. Fielding could be their saving grace.

The Captain – Faf du Plessis
Du Plessis is usually a clear thinking captain – this time it's no different, but manifesting this clarity on field will be a challenge. He will have to be more aggressive.

Tarot Advantage
England
