T20 3: A Close One

Picture
Sri Lanka
There isn't much wrong that Sri Lanka will do today, but they can improve their chances of crossing the finishing line by batting and fielding more aggressively. Otherwise, they will be a team that looks well coordinated and ready to work hard.

The Captain – Dinesh Chandimal
Chandimal is certainly hungry for a win, and he is got his team in order too, but he will have to watch out for two things; not over-debating tactics and not delaying plan implementation.

South Africa
South Africa may not have the most ideal start with the bat, but they will recover smartly and appear to be braver than usual. Their fielding will need to improve if they are to justify the hard work put in by the bowlers.

The Captain – Faf du Plessis
Du Plessis may not be as pro-active as he should be in the initial part of the game, but he will certainly be wise. His sensibilities and mental strength will work in the team's favour.

Tarot Advantage:
South Africa

T20 2 - Two Up or One All?

Picture
Sri Lanka
There is an unevenness about Sri Lanka today. The plans are there, the desire to play in a balanced fashion is there too, but yet the team is displaying patchiness in all areas of the game. Risky batting and better anticipation can put them in a better position, whereas the bowlers should not hold back so much.

The Captain – Dinesh Chandimal
Nervous, edgy and feeling a sense of responsibility, Chandimal will work hard to use his resources well.

South Africa
South Africa will need to refrain from over-planning and being overly aggressive. They will need to be more patient especially with their fielding and middle-over bowling. Batting will appear temperamental towards the latter half.

The Captain – Faf du Plessis
Mentally very positive and highly confident with his plans, Du Plessis will be encouraging and in control. He will have the tendency to be negative but will quickly brush aside this feeling.

Tarot Advantage:
South Africa

1st T20 - Who Takes The Lead?

Picture
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka may not have the wisest plans, but they will manage to work around this through some aggressive game play and the efforts of some individuals. Bowling will be patchy, whereas batting will provide required balance. Fielding will be complacent towards the latter half.

The Captain – Dinesh Chandimal
Captaincy will start off to be quite a simple task, but it will be important for Chandimal to be more flexible in his decision making.

South Africa
South Africa will be aggressive, even if it means that they will appear unstable and inconsistent – they are looking to fight their way through this opening game. Their team work will be positive, but some expensive bowling and middle over batting dips will not help their cause.

The Captain – Faf du Plessis
Du Plessis is not entirely certain or even comfortable in handling this game, but despite this he will prefer to be more attacking in order to get the team in a better position.

Tarot Advantage:
Sri Lanka

Ending On A High

Picture
Sri Lanka
Collectively team Sri Lanka are relaxed and comfortable with their plans, but they will go through a patch of lapses making them more alert - hence pushing them towards a stronger finish. Batting and bowling will be confident, but they will have to focus better towards the latter half or their batting.

The Captain – Angelo Mathews
Mathews will constantly second guess his plans – he wishes to end well, but he does need to be careful of not gambling away too much.

South Africa
There is a certain balance about South Africa today, but they will go through some patchy confusions with their batting, bowling and fielding. It will be imperative for them to remain focussed if they're to utilise their balance and resources well.

The Captain – AB de Villiers
De Villiers is unsure, and he realises this, hence he will approach this game one step at a time. He will carefully observe the situations rather than taking impulsive actions.

Tarot Advantage:
Sri Lanka

Carrying Momentum?

Picture
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka will not have the most ideal start with the bat, but will finish off strongly; whereas bowling will need to be more aggressive. Overall they will find themselves playing catch up.

The Captain – Angelo Mathews
Although feeling the pressure, Mathews will be positive and will try to be more pro-active.

South Africa
Temperamental but aggressive, South Africa will not be too happy with their batting, but bowling/fielding will show great team work.

The Captain – AB de Villiers
De Villiers will not be the sharpest with his decision making but his team will support him well.

Tarot Advantage:
South Africa

Change in Venue - Change in Fortune?

Picture
Sri Lanka
It will be very important for Sri Lanka to be more realistic with their initial approach and for their actions to be less aggressive – or at-least better directed aggression. As the game progresses, their wise judgements will allow them to maintain a better hold on their position. In order for bowling to be more effective, fielding will need to step up.

The Captain – Angelo Mathews
Mathews will be slow to react and will also seem confused at times. He will adjust himself during the match allowing him to take better decisions.

South Africa
The team seems dejected and imbalanced – this will be an initial phase after which they will build themselves well and come through with a stronger performance. Collective contributions will see them being more successful, but they will need to put in additional efforts through to the end.

The Captain – AB de Villiers
Unsure and a little complicated, De Villiers will have trouble in communicating his plans and ideas to his team when required most.

Tarot Advantage:
Better overall captaincy gives advantage to: Sri Lanka

A South African Fight Back?

Picture
Sri Lanka
Quick thinking, pro-activeness and sensible games plans will be reflected in Sri Lanka's play today. Despite this there will still be some kinks in their armor – such as uncomfortable batting moments and some bowling inconsistencies towards the end.

The Captain – Dinesh Chandimal
Captaincy will start off well, but Chandimal needs to be weary of being overly aggressive at times. He will need to start recognising repetitive problems and act upon them if he is to see Sri Lanka through to a win.

South Africa
The South African's come into this game with a steady and conservative mindset. They will be aggressive but through more effective plans. It will be important for them to not slow down as the momentum shifts in their favour; eliminating fear from their initial bowling and middle over batting will be important.

The Captain – AB de Villiers
De Villiers will focus on drawing out a collective effort from the team and exploiting their resources to the best of their abilities. He will need to refrain from pessimism and generate more belief and balance. A strong decision from him will create favourable opportunities.

Tarot Advantage:
It's a tough decision to choose the advantage, but on the basis of a stronger finish it will be: Tarot Advantage - South Africa

Series Opener: Close Game?

Picture
Sri Lanka
It seems as if Sri Lanka are going to have a temperamental day; they will be pro-active at times, but then completely dull in taking necessary action. This will reflect most in their bowling and fielding whereas batting will be more stable.

The Captain – Dinesh Chandimal
23 year old Chandimal has been given a big responsibility of Captaining the side and will fulfil his responsibilities to a great extent but he will falter by not anticipating well enough, hence some situations will surprise him; making his decisions inconsistent and reactive. He will receive good team support.

South Africa
South Africa too may not appear to be the most stable or consistent, but they will peak at the right times. They will need to apply themselves better with the bat, but collectively as a team they will do what is required. Although bowling and fielding will be strong, but there will be a middle-over patch of anxiety that will reveal their weaknesses.

The Captain – AB de Villiers
Confident and balanced, AB de Villiers will sensibly guide his team through a structured game plan. He will find himself having to fight this one to the end.

Tarot Advantage:
South Africa
