ODI 5: Balancing Act

ODI 5 – 31 January, 2014 - Wellington
New Zealand Vs India

New Zealand
The team has made some changes – balancing it out will be a task but a manageable one. Batting will have a good start, but a dip will be seen. Bowling will be strong and well coordinated. Fielding will be effective too.

The Captain – Brendon McCullum
McCullum seems unusually strained. He has some wise plans up his sleeve, but may lose belief from time to time.

India
It's a strange situation – team India exude belief, courage and balance but their anxieties will be seen with their batting, bowling and fielding. They will have to be more aggressive with their initial batting to gain the right momentum. Bowling will be steadier but elementary mistakes will be seen in parts. Fielding will lack focus.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Dhoni understands the potentials of the team yet feels confused with handling his resources. He wishes to go defensive but this will be against his natural instinct. Aggression will help him.

Tarot Advantage
All will come together for: Team India

The Captain – Brendon McCullum
Although a little soft at times, McCullum will make quick and effective changes. He will build momentum as the match progresses.

ODI 3 - Mind Games

ODI 3 – 25 January, 2014 - Auckland
New Zealand Vs India

New Zealand
It's not so much that New Zealand will make some silly errors on their own, instead it will be induced mistakes by the opposition. Confident, steady and aggressive will be their overall demeanour, but maintaining this till the end will be their challenge. Batting will be inconsistent in parts, but it will be the small contributions that will accumulate a nice innings for the team. Bowling will need to be more energetic because a softer approach will let the opposition off the hook. Fielding will be good.

The Captain – Brendon McCullum
McCullum is a little moody today – he will fluctuate with his decisions, which may find the team having to work harder than required.

India
It's a bit of mix – despite the two losses, team India are confident of coming back and challenging the opposition. They will have the tendency to lose belief and even look worried, but these will just be in small phases. Eventually gathering themselves well, their batting will show controlled application. Bowling won't be so consistent, but it will deliver when required. Fielding will need to be more enthusiastic.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni

ODI 1 – 19 January, 2014 - Napier
New Zealand Vs India

New Zealand
There is a certain comfort about team New Zealand – that's expected since it is home turf, but it's tough for this comfort to last. They will need to be careful of losing focus, especially with their initial batting and fielding. Overall, batting will pick up and bowling will be balanced.

The Captain – Brendon McCullum
It's easy for McCullum to get caught up in multiple ideas and make some basic errors in judgement. He will have to be more pro-active to get better results.

India
The team holds a basic belief in themselves – which may just work well, especially as they're more determined to work hard and put up a fight.
