CT13 Final - Match 15: England Vs India

England
Initial application with the bat will be an important requirement from team England, allowing them a steadier innings. Bowling too will need to be more aggressive; relying too much on past performances will not work, instead new strategies will need to be adopted. Overall the team will know when and how to step up, but being more pro-active will put things in their favour.

The Captain – Alastair Cook
Balanced and aggressive captaincy will be seen from Cook. He will maintain control over his plans and see that they are implemented well.

India
In control, hungry and aggressive – the Indian team will look to maintain a hold over the game, but they will need to be careful of their middle over batting and bowling. They will need to make more of an effort to maintain positive momentum till the end.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
There will be hard work and a lot of application from Dhoni. His captaincy will show moments of brilliance yet moments of confusion too.

Tarot Advantage:
Both teams appear strong in parts and both teams will display basic weaknesses. Tarot Advantage goes to the team that peaks at the right time and also has a certain bit of luck favouring them, hence.. Tarot Advantage: India

The Battle: India Vs Pakistan

Saturday, 15th June 2013 (3pm IST)
CT13 Group B - Match 10: India Vs Pakistan

India
Aggressive, in command and looking to construct a good challenge. Their end over batting and middle over bowling will be inconsistent. Overall India's hunger to win will be evident and will be prepared to work hard for it.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
A little perplexed at times, Dhoni will still manage to manipulate his resources well and make appropriate changes.

Pakistan
Although strong and aggressive, team Pakistan may not have complete conviction in pre-decided plans, hence their instinctive changes will prove to be more beneficial. They will have to step up on their fielding and look to be sharper in their batting. Bowling will appear brilliant at times and then not so great.

The Captain – Misbah-ul-Haq
Misbah will provide the team with much required balance and will head the charge well. He will be disappointed by some basic issues within the team.

Tarot Advantage:
India

Top of the Table? India or West Indies?

Tuesday, 11th June 2013 (3pm IST)
CT13 Group B - Match 6: India Vs West Indies

India
Looking a little out of focus at times, team India do have good self-belief to draw out their potential when required. Better bowling plans will be needed. Batting will need to be more aggressive.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Instinctive, wise and on the charge, Dhoni will make quick and appropriate changes.

West Indies
Inconsistency will trouble them, especially with their fielding and their batting towards the end.

The Captain – Dwayne Bravo
Bravo will find it tougher to balance all areas, since pre-decided plans may not work the way he would expect them too. Despite this, his contribution will be very important.

Tarot Advantage:
India

The Opener: India Vs South Africa

Thursday, 6th June 2013 (3pm IST)
CT13 Group B - Match 1: India Vs South Africa

India
Too many ideas and feeling a huge sense of responsibility, the Indian team, despite some obvious weaknesses will pull themselves together quite well. Batting will need to finish better and initial bowling will need to be more aggressive. Their experience and a wise game approach will find them to be better balanced.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
A little flustered and tensed, Dhoni will need to gather his ideas and stick to an aggressive path. Some instinctive decision making will find the game turn in India's favour.

South Africa
A strong and bonded side will be seen on the field today. Immense hard work will be needed to maintain better bowling consistency. South Africa will have a good start, but it will be their inability to finish well that will disappoint.

The Captain – AB de Villiers
Initially de Villiers does look confused and will take some time to gather himself according to the situation, but it will be under this intensity that he will bloom and make some good decisions as a captain and batsman.

Tarot Advantage:
India

The Tarot Cricket Process - Champions Trophy 2013

Picture
There seems to be a misconception that forecasting matches through the Tarot cards is quick and easy.

Cards for each team, their batting-bowling-fielding and their Captains are drawn and analysed on their own and then in comparison with each other. This entire process can take up to 2 hours per game. But what's important is that I try not to complicate it by trying to look at every possible player - otherwise I would drive myself crazy. Tarot reveals a lot of hidden aspects, hence it is up to my instincts to compare and gage what interpretation to pick on and forecast accordingly.

Having only ever forecasted Twenty-20 matches, the 50 over Champions Trophy is certainly going to be a different challenge. Although I won't change it much from the T20 Tarot formula, but I guess I will have to tweak it a little as the tournament progresses - so I'm expecting some glitches along the way - but that's okay, since it'll be a fun learning curb.

As always I'm hoping for some great matches and seeing some surprise results - and of course for all my loyal readers to enjoy the forecasts and the tournament!

See you on 6th June for the 1st match - India Vs South Africa (Group B) at Cardiff

Now this makes me nervous..

Tuesday, 14th May 2013 (4pm IST)
IPL 6 - Match 63: Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Kings XI Punjab

Royal Challengers Bangalore
A tough game, where risks will need to be taken and negative attitude will need to go out the window! Initial batting will need to be more free flowing. Bowling will show better rhythm, but it will lack consistency.

The Captain – Virat Kohli
Being overly cautious will not work well for Virat. He will have to re-work his plans very quickly and not get confused while taking decisions.

Kings XI Punjab
Initially a lot more self-belief will need to be instilled. They have the right plans and will show great sparks of energy as the game progresses. Although repetitive problems will keep pulling them back but they seem to have the grit to get themselves out of uncomfortable positions.

The Captain – Adam Gilchrist
He appears very comfortable in his role, bringing together the right bowling and batting combinations.

Tarot Advantage:
Kings XI PunjabVersion: (Reason: Better captaincy from Adam Gilchrist)

IPL 6 - Match 64: Chennai Super Kings Vs Delhi Daredevils

Chennai Super Kings
Confusions through multiple plan changes may burden the team. They will need to stick to their ideas, otherwise batting and bowling will have their weaknesses exposed.

The Captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Dhoni being an instinctive and confident captain will have a good start, but will find it tough to maintain the team's momentum throughout the game.

Delhi Daredevils
A little tame looking Daredevils will gradually spread their wings. Weaknesses in batting will be seen but they will manage to lift their game. Aggression will key.

The Captain – David Warner
Warner may look a little perplexed at times, but the team will lift him well. He will need to generate more conviction in his plans.

Tarot Advantage:
Delhi DaredevilsVersion (Reason: Better overal team performance)

Will Hyderabad Pull This Off?!.. Mumbai Vs Hyderabad..

Monday, 13th May 2013 (8pm IST)
IPL 6 - Match 62: Mumbai Indians Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Mumbai Indians
There will be some calculated risks taken by the Mumbai Indians, which may not necessarily pay off in the manner they would be comfortable with. Nervousness and constant changes may trouble their focus. Their bowling will be well balanced, but batting will require better application.

The Captain – Rohit Sharma
Although appearing balanced, Sharma will make some basic tactical errors and may find himself having to work harder than usual.

Sunrisers Hyderabad
Recurring problems will continue to trouble them – especially with their fielding and their initial batting. It will be important for them to have more faith in their plans. Good bowling and batting partnerships will prove to be an important factor.

The Captain – Cameron White
White may seem a little soft at times, but he will get on top of the situation and make some confident decisions.

Tarot Advantage:
Sunrisers Hyderabad

Home Advantage? Kolkata Vs Rajasthan..

Friday, 3rd May 2013 (8pm IST)
IPL 6 - Match 47: Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Rajasthan Royals

Kolkata Knight Riders
An interesting day for KKR as they will come back to their true form, but not without showing glimpses of their basic batting problems. Overall they will have a well rounded performance.

The Captain – Gautam Gambhir
Gambhir will work immensely hard today. He will be commanding and will manage to instinctively direct his team.

Rajasthan Royals
By appearing too soft, the Royals will be quite deceptive in being able to shift gears and changing momentum - but they should avoid getting overly aggressive as this could get them into trouble. Their initial bowling will need to improve.

The Captain – Rahul Dravid
Strategies will come naturally to Dravid today. He will have all the right ideas but implementing them will be tougher than expected.

Tarot Advantage:
Kolkata Knight Riders
