Another Must Win: Australia Vs Sri Lanka

Please Note: All readings are based on a 50 0ver game, as when the cards are pulled out, they're divided according to sections of overs, therefore if the match is effected by rain the Advantage may differ, but the overal mind frame described will remain relatively the same.

Monday, 17th June 2013 (5.30pm IST)
CT13 Group A - Match 12: Australia Vs Sri Lanka

Australia
Extreme hard work will be required for Australia to get through this one. They need to be more focussed and more aggressive with their overall game plans. Initially bowling will appear troubled.

The Captain – George Bailey
Bailey will try a little too hard to keep everything balanced and in order. It will be a tough task, but by re-confirming strategies before implementing them will put the team in a better position.

Sri Lanka
Initial bowling will be inconsistent, but the team will come together well in all other areas. They will be progressively cautious and not stagnate. Their sensible implementation of plans will work in their favour.

The Captain – Angelo Mathews
Although not entirely confident, a nervous Mathews will get good support from the team. He should be weary of confusing his ideas.

Tarot Advantage:
Sri Lanka

Close One? Australia Vs New Zealand

Wednesday, 12th June 2013 (3pm IST)
CT13 Group A - Match 7: Australia Vs New Zealand

Australia
The Australian players will contribute well and play more like a team. They will have to work harder on their bowling and their batting towards the end. There will be some apparent dis-balances, but sound planning and good team work will keep them alive.

The Captain – George Bailey
He will need to eliminate his anxieties and have more belief in his plans. His own contribution will be steady and balanced.

New Zealand
Balanced and firm, New Zealand will find that their aggression will pay off well. Batting towards the end will need to be more realistic and fielding will need to step up. Overall, they will play positively.

The Captain – Brendon McCullum
There will be a tendency for McCullum to periodically confuse his ideas. His aggression and ability to adapt amidst all the confusion will see his captaincy do well.

Tarot Advantage:
New Zealand

The English-Aussie Battle ... Who Holds Advantage?

Saturday, 8th June 2013 (3pm IST)
CT13 Group A - Match 3: England Vs Australia

England
Confused ideas and mis-directed aggression will trouble the England team. Despite good batting, they will need to increase their strike rate to have a better impact. Initial bowling will be wayward, but overall it will be positively consistent.

The Captain – Alastair Cook
Although outwardly confident in his approach, Cook will find it hard to maintain this and may even falter in implementing the right plans at the right time.

Australia
Nervous and a little under-confident, the Australians will have the right plans and the right aggression, but their own anxieties may trouble them the most. Initial and batting will both reflect steady consistency.

The Captain – George Bailey
Without Michael Clarke, Bailey is certainly feeling the pressure. He will be well supported by the team, especially as his own ideas may not work too well. He should stick to pre-decided plans to see better success.

Tarot Advantage:
Australia

(Reason: Both teams will have their own inner battles to deal with, but Australia will handle themselves better)

The Tarot Cricket Process - Champions Trophy 2013

Picture
There seems to be a misconception that forecasting matches through the Tarot cards is quick and easy.

Cards for each team, their batting-bowling-fielding and their Captains are drawn and analysed on their own and then in comparison with each other. This entire process can take up to 2 hours per game. But what's important is that I try not to complicate it by trying to look at every possible player - otherwise I would drive myself crazy. Tarot reveals a lot of hidden aspects, hence it is up to my instincts to compare and gage what interpretation to pick on and forecast accordingly.

Having only ever forecasted Twenty-20 matches, the 50 over Champions Trophy is certainly going to be a different challenge. Although I won't change it much from the T20 Tarot formula, but I guess I will have to tweak it a little as the tournament progresses - so I'm expecting some glitches along the way - but that's okay, since it'll be a fun learning curb.

As always I'm hoping for some great matches and seeing some surprise results - and of course for all my loyal readers to enjoy the forecasts and the tournament!

See you on 6th June for the 1st match - India Vs South Africa (Group B) at Cardiff

Women's Cricket World Cup - Tarot's Top 3 Contenders!

It's already been a fun start to the Women's World Cup - in fact it's got me curious .. who would be the top contenders?? I just had to take a sneak peak. So what does Tarot say??

Who's looking most likely to win the Women's Cricket World Cup '13?

Tarot Top 3 (No particular order)

1. Australia - they will have the ability to remain calm and sensible - using their aggression wisely.

2. India - they will do well in handling pressure situations and will have a good all round performance.

3. Sri Lanka - they're nervous, anxious but still have great belief. They will do well to change situations in their favour.

Now time to see what transpires..

Good luck to all!

How Successful was Tarot during the T20 Cricket World Cup?

Forecasting match outcomes through Tarot for the T20 Cricket World Cup was quite a challenge, but what were the final numbers? How successful was this?

Match Accuracy was at 70%

but Player Accuracy is where it all counts, especially as it's important to be able to gage the actions and mindset of an individual player. 237 out of 295 players were accurate, therefore..

Player Accuracy was at 80%!

It's been a great exercise in working with Tarot positively and providing a different dimension to the way Tarot is viewed.

Thank you for all the great responses!
