We launch CricTarot today with a special on Dhoni's birthday who turns 32 tomorrow, 7th July 2013

What does Tarot say about MSD's future? How will his birthday year be? More accolades or further controversies? Will he still captain with such ease? Will batting be more impressive?

As Mahendra Singh Dhoni turns 32, it also changes a few of his life equations. This birth year brings with it some controversies, with a few back stabbers and some loyal friends. But admits the ups and downs the year has to offer, Dhoni turns out to be calmer and wiser (if that's possible with him) than before.

On a general look, the cards reveal some personal discrepancies which will certainly trouble him, yet there is great potential for him to be a father this year too. So although a mixed bag on the personal front, he will find himself much busier than before. He will have a lot to do just not enough time to do it all and do it well. This is where his sense of planning and instinctiveness will prevail. His ability to overcome such situations will be because of his natural gift to just understand and foresee the future.

As a batsman, his responsibility of pulling his teams (India & CSK) out of trouble will continue. He will almost always manage the right balance and bring common sense to the team, but it will be incorrect to assume that all this is easy for him. He will be showing moments of irritability, disappointment and anxiousness – but this will blend finely with aggression and building required partnerships with utmost ease. He will perform well at home and overseas but he has to be careful of not allowing over-dependency on his batting, which is why firm communication with his team will be a serious need.

Aggressive and positive intention will find Dhoni leading well, but not without moments of major uncertainties. In such a situation, most would get perturbed and nervous, but instead Dhoni prefers moments where matches slow down – it gives him time to think and strategise – it's these moments that actually create the opportunity for Dhoni to think of something different. He will have to deal with some temperamental players; some who will believe that Dhoni's ideas and actions are incorrect. This opposition will not be confrontational, but it will be felt by those around. Such situations and feelings will be blown out of proportion and controversies will be made out of it. But there might just be other unexpected controversies in store, which as a captain, Dhoni will handle with ease.

I thought it would be interesting to see Dhoni's equation with the BCCI and this is where I was surprised. Dhoni has tremendous command, hence the BCCI feel uncomfortable to confront him or tell him what to do. Instead Dhoni does things on his own terms and conditions yet abiding by what the board require off him. His wiseness and his handling of those who wish to impose their authority over him this year will be firm, hence not allowing them to dominate over him.

Tarot Tip: Current and new business investments need to be double checked as their can be unnecessary losses. Balance in such ventures will only be restored by September 2014.

It is an exciting year for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but he will need to maintain more calm then ever.
